“I believe all children have innate curiosity, willful imagination and aspiration to learn. It is the responsibility of the educator to find the motivation that drives that process by positive mentoring and befitting the catalyst in the chain reaction. Each child is unique and has the penchant to shine within the educational system, if given the opportunity.” KRS

"Children Learn What They Live" by Dorothy Law Nolte, 1954

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect. (not just politeness..but genuine respect !)
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

I look forward to working with the student population, their parents and the entire instructional staff to build successful partnerships this year at Fred Lynn Middle School.  I wish to share my excitement for scientific exploration and the inquiry process while teaching the physical and life science curriculum in my classroom.

I'm a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I received my teaching degree in 2009.   I have a BS degree in chemistry from Western Carolina University plus graduate work in chemistry at Wake Forest University. I have worked in the corporate world as a scientist for more than 25 years at companies such as Glaxo SmithKline, USDA, ICI Americas, Wellman, Inc. just to name a few.   I enjoy bringing 21st Century skills to my teaching activities and look forward to sharing many scientific discoveries with my students.

I've had the privilege of being the Head Football Coach since 2010 and proud to be part of the FLM family.  I want to personally thank all the administrators, staff, parents and students who have supported the football team the last three years.  We couldn't have done it without all of you...THANK YOU!!!!

I'm so very proud of all the football players this PERFECT season 2011-2012...you are the best!!!!! WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP !!!!!!!! I told you throughout the season: " If we work as a team, play as a team...no one could touch us" ... so glad you stayed focused and valued team philosophy!!!! You'all are the pride of FLM...valued leaders on and off the field!!!!   Parents and FLM staff: we couldn't have done it without your support, good thoughts, graciously lending hands when asked last minute and prayers throughout the season...from the bottom of my heart...THANK-YOU for having faith in me !!!!   I know you are proud of these young men, as I am...words are not enough to express my joy in coaching this team!!!!

I'm proud of our football players this 2012 winning season; all of you are leaders on and off the football field and show much Hornet Pride.   Thank you for allowing me to be your coach another year...Go Hornets !!!!!

Last note:

I'm a proud mom of a daughter in college in NC and my son who attends Manassas Park Elementary.  My daughter graduated as a Charlotte Mecklenburg School Scholar, a North Carolina Scholar, 10 additional honors along with an International Languages Scholar award when she proudly walked across the stage in 2010.  She is dedicated to making a positive difference in this world as she studies sustainability and product development, international business-environmental affairs and languages at ASU.  My daughter works 30 hours a week supporting herself fully along with taking a full academic load...high honors too boot!!!   My son has a natural curiosity for learning anything and everything these days...oh, the questions he asks me and his teachers ..lol.    He keeps everyone on their toes!!!
I'm very proud of my children and as single mom, I know it takes a village to raise kids these days...I'm proud to be part of my children's lives, both my own kids and my kids in my class room...they bring me such joy daily!!!

I have been in and out of the educational system since 1997, both private and public, employee and volunteer, served on many successful school committees over the years...lending a hand where needed...to many to list here...lol, served as a mentor for the "Gangs of One" program, built 5 houses with the Habitat For Humanity program in Charlotte, North Carolina and look forward to serving Prince William County in similiar capacities.  I play USTA 4.5 Level competitive tennis, cycle on my Trek 510 Sport & Motobecane bikes, love to cook and garden and of course...football season in the fall and tennis in the spring.

It is my pleasure serving the needs and teaching your child this year at Fred Lynn Middle School.  I am dedicated to making our youth stronger in mind, body and soul...responsible/accountable leaders for generations to follow.   I couldn't have a better job...I absolutely love what I do and what rich experiences I can share with my students.

You may contact me via email @ sentilkx@pwcs.edu or leave a message at FLM and I promise to return it within the same day.  I read email several times a day and answer phone messages during my planning periods (when not in meetings) or usually at the end of the day when available.

Warmest regards,
